Hammond man faces murder charge in July shooting

A Hammond man is in custody on murder and attempted murder charges filed in connection with a July 3 shooting that left one man dead.

The same man also is charged with attempted murder and other counts in a separate shooting two weeks later involving a key witness who was seriously wounded.
