A 45-year-old Gary, Ind., man who authorities say was in the United States illegally has been indicted in connection with a string of restaurant robberies in Chicago and the suburbs.
According to the FBI, Jose Cruz Morales-Cortes had twice been deported, in March 2004 and August 2016.
