Woman fatally struck by Metra train on North Side

A Metra train traveling toward downtown Thursday night fatally struck a woman who was on the elevated tracks on the North Side, officials said.

The Union Pacific Northwest train was approaching the Clybourn stop when it hit the woman, who was pronounced dead, according to a Metra spokeswoman.
