Children, 8 and 9, in critical condition as Gary police investigate shootings

A boy and a girl, both under the age of 10, were in critical but stable condition after being wounded in two separate shootings Monday in Gary, police said.

"It's senseless violence," Gary Police Chief Larry McKinley said at a Tuesday press conference.
