One person died early Tuesday when a Prompt Ambulance transport vehicle and a semitrailer crashed at 4th Avenue and Rutledge Street in Gary. Police said the victim was a passenger in the Prompt van.
Gary police Lt. Dawn Westerfield said in a release that the crash happened at 5:30 a.m.
